Probably an update would be good. A lot of very obvious features missing. Would really like to return this app.

Customizable, and easy to use. It helps me from getting distracted when I am reading in busy areas. I have not tried uploading other books, only reading from the book list provided. But, it has all the classics
I have tried at least a half dozen other speed reader apps that flash a single word or several words of text at a time in sequence and none of them have been suitable for managing and reading full length ePub novels. This app however permits navigation within an ebook and is very customizable. [My only feature request: user bookmarks]
Lots of custom settings to make speed reading work for everyone.
Thank you, thank you for a wonderful app that successfully integrates speed reading fundamentals. I love being able to manually select the number of words per minute and also the number of words per phrase. I highly recommend this app for ease of use, optimum reading speed and content comprehension. Well worth the price. My personal top app. 5 Stars for well done!
I like it, and the best part is, you can download a bookmarklet online that will transform a web page into an ePub to be read by this program!
Well thought out. Ideal for books.
I love being able to put ePub books on this app. The adjustable settings are great. I use it mainly to study non-fiction books. It allows me to speed through a whole book to get the gist then I read & highlight in iBooks. Makes for greater retention. When more formats are available Ill give it 5 stars.
Ive always wanted to speed read, but never could focus well enough to be effective. Ive tried training books and websites, but it wasnt enough for me. I tried a bunch of these types of apps on iOS and found Velocireader to be the best! It handles book navigation flawlessly in speed read mode by using one tap pause/resume and double tap to switch between eReader and speed read mode. Theres also a "skip back" button thatll do just that in case you need to go back a bit to reread something that flashed too quickly. I literally jumped from 200 to 400 wpm by simply using the app (5 words, 0.75 seconds) because it makes focusing on the flashing phrase so easy! And its not confusing to keep up, I feel my comprehension is just as high as reading normally because the app considers the sentence/punctuation when determining exactly what phrase to show (ie: new phrases for each sentence, for each new speech, and paragraph). I wish for a few more features, though: 1. A timer for minutes to end of the chapter, or end of the book. 2. PDF or we page support. 3. Sync location and books across devices. A couple tweaks to understanding when punctuation is used to complete a thought and when its not (ie: end of sentence break vs. breaking on Mr. or Mrs.)
Its really good. The equivalent of Spritz or whatever its called. I just put my ebooks in DropBox and then from Dropbox I can load them into velocireader. I love it, Im reading more than ever.
Ive looked at about 10 of these reading apps, including the most extensive (Acceleread, which is way too ambitious for its own good), and this is the only one that is actually useful, and very. The way the developer handles ePubs is excellent (iBooks cant seem to format them correctly when converted from PDF, but Velocireader does), and the rhythm for reading is truly amazing (the stops for punctuation are a really necessary detail). This is definitely a five-star app and I hope the developers keep pushing forward. A few changes Id like to see: 1) a step forward just like theres a step back. Also, I prefer the icons on the iPhone version to the words on the iPad version (<< instead of "step back". 2) In "Book" mode, double-tapping on the book itself sometimes brings you back to the beginning of the chapter. There are lots of ways to fix this, but double-tapping on text with no visual feedback is just weird. Put some buttons on the left side (every five lines, for instance) so we can get back to speed-reading mode in somewhere near the right place. Doesnt need to be exact. 3) In "Book" mode, the reader doesnt take advantage of screen width... lots of blank space (especially on iPad). 4) Would love to be able to open PDFs directly However, so many great things, including getting the speed-reading part right. Im already enjoying this and looking forward to getting faster with this way of reading. Good luck with the next phase of development and thank you!
I cant open anything. App shuts down. Have tried a reinstall and reboot.
Needs support for articles on the web like Velocity has. Light reads in NY Times, New Yorker, Washington Post etc. are exactly what Id like to speed read, rather than literature on ePub.
This app is great for a person who already has a general idea of what speed reading is. The interface is very clean and there is very little eye strain when reading a book. I love the fact that can now read my book list with ease. GET THIS APP ❤️
Great app for speeding through ebooks. You can really customize this app to your preferences - fonts, spacing, background, speed, how many words appear at once, everything. This was great for figuring out which combination of settings works best for me - and it didnt take very long to figure out cause the settings are easy to change. Things I wish it had are Instapaper integration and Safaris Reading List integration. Ive really put calibre to good use converting books to ePub and putting the calibre library on Dropbox makes getting my books into Velocireader effortless.
Dont expect to be reading your favorite book with this one! Documentation is bad and so is the help.
love it. fonts are great; easy to use. pick up your fav book and enjoy reading.
